2 Become 1 – Spice Girls
Speaking of Spice…
My colleagues begged me to not include a Spice Girls song on this list, but I refused. At number 9 we have “2 Become 1”, one of the best sex songs of the 90s.
Who can forget singing along to this banger in the car, before a very concerned mother promptly switched to The Archers at the first mention of making love…The melody is beautiful and the girls’ voices seem to blend perfectly, especially Emma Bunton’s sweet soprano and Mel B’s sultry alto.
What this song teaches us? Always wear a condom, gentlemen!
“Be a little bit wiser baby / Put it on, put it on.”
“If only there were a whole list of the best Spice Girls songs!”, I hear you ask. Well it’s your lucky day! Check out our ranking of the Spice Girls greatest hits.
I’ll Make Love To You – Boyz II Men
They were boys when they started singing the song, but by the end, they were men.
This is a surprisingly touching song considering it was the 90s. As it ends, I’m left shaking uncontrollably, screaming:
“HOLD ME, SHAWN! HOLD ME!”
What this song teaches us? Sex should be savored. Take your time. Enjoy yourself. And most importantly, appreciate your partner.
“I will do anything, girl you need only ask”
Whistle – Flo Rida
7 years later and I finally understand the meaning behind this song. And it is horrifying. And I’m not the only one. A few highlights from the comment section:
“8 years old me: BlOw My WhIsTlE bAbY. Me now: I’m sorry mum”
“I sang this at our school for talent show. They didn’t let me finish”
And perhaps the most thought-provoking:
“What if it actually meant just a regular whistle and you all just thought dirty?”
What this song teaches us? Nothing. Don’t listen, children. We definitely don’t recommend this as a sexy song to sing!
S&M – Rihanna
Queen RiRi had us all singing this in the playground and it was not appropriate.
What this song teaches us? There’s nothing wrong with getting a little freaky in the bedroom…
“Sticks and stones may break my bones / But chains and whips excite me.
I Kissed a Girl – Katy Perry
Katy Perry’s “good girl gone bad” moment that had a generation of straight girls questioning their sexuality.
What this song teaches us? It’s okay to experiment with your sexuality! Don’t feel ashamed!
Like a Virgin – Madonna
Why was the music video filmed in Venice? Don’t ask.
How did she not fall in the water during her precarious gondola ride? Again, no idea.
What this song teaches us? Sex can be as exciting as the first time with the right person.

Je T’aime… Moi Non Plus – Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg
Picture the scene. Keira Knightly / Anna Hathaway / Natalie Portman, dressed provocatively, in an advert for perfume / chocolate / make-up, with this song playing in the background. Ah….I miss the early 2000s. Plus, who doesn’t love listening to this song pretending they’re a character from Sex and the City?
I’m fairly confident Birkin and Gainsbourg actually started having sex while recording this song so it’s bound to put you in the right mood!
What this song taught us? Everything sounds sexier in French.

Sexy and I Know It – LMFAO
Perhaps the weirdest 2 minutes 23 seconds of my life.
What this song teaches us? Love yourself! Self-confidence is sexy. As are fighting tight pants.
The Rum Tum Tugger – Andrew Lloyd Webber and T. S. Eliot
A bonus for the Musical Theatre fans out there!
Just me? Okay then…
What this song teaches us? Anything can be sexy if you put it in a leotard.
Hopefully we’ve given you some inspiration! Good luck!
